When you hire Blairquhan Castle exclusively, we can help organise many outdoor activities on our Castle grounds, as well as a variety of evening entertainment options to help enhance your guests’ experience, creating the most memorable moments for your event.
Please note most of below activities/entertainment are provided by Blairquhan’s trusted external suppliers, additional costs will apply and are payable directly to the suppliers.
Outdoor Pursuits
Embrace the classic Scottish countryside with activities hosted directly on the Castle grounds:
- Country Sports: Test your aim with clay pigeon shooting, archery, and Axe throwing.
- Mini Highland Games: A popular choice for team building, featuring traditional tests of strength and skill on the castle lawns.
- Fishing: The estate holds fishing rights on a private stretch of the River Girvan, perfect for catching salmon and trout. Fishing permits cost £35 per person per day, which can be purchased from the Estate Office in person or by phone on 01655 770239.
- Estate Walks and Foraging: Explore the historic walled garden (laid out in 1816), the avenue of 18th-century lime trees, and the extensive “tree trail” featuring the famous Dool Tree of Blairquhan. Or book a unique foraging experience with a local expert forager to explore the wild food grown on Blairquhan estate.
Indoor Entertainment
For evenings or rainy days, the castle’s Regency-style function rooms provide a sophisticated backdrop for:
- Tastings: Guided whisky and gin tastings featuring local Scottish spirits.
